In Chapter 2, Professor Park Chan-kook reflects on what it means to be human and what constitutes human happiness, while exploring how the Fourth Industrial Revolution can unfold in a way that brings happiness to humanity. He points out that in modern technological civilization, human desires are often realized in negative ways and, with the aid of science and technology, are manifested in ways that lead to severe crises. He emphasizes that, in order for the Fourth Industrial Revolution not to result in a dystopia but rather contribute to human happiness, science and technology must not be used as tools to fulfill our will to dominate and our greed. Instead, they should be employed to support human efforts to realize uniquely human desires in rational and healthy ways.
